The EC cranes are notable for their economical transportation and quick erection with few integral assembly modules. These are the only cranes, which dispose of complete assembled tower head. Thus, all-important elements are mounted on a complete crane deck as a single unit. As a result, erecting times are cut drastically.
The cross-section of the EC cranes from 70 tm to 80 tm is only 1,2 x 1,2 m. These characteristics provide the advantage of an easy transportation. The EC cranes can be transported on a truck lying side by side or one over the other.
The smallest economic cranes are fitted with automatic re-reeving of the block suspension. Without any outside assistance and working from a crane cabin, the crane operator can change automatically from double to four-rope reeving and back.
According to the customer’s wish, the EC cranes can be equipped with hoisting gear drive with a frequency converter.
The 90 tm cranes have hoisting gear with an electromagnetic-shift transmission and front gearing. The speed gears can be shifted while loading. All loads are lifted on a double-rope suspension. Economic cranes rating at 70 – 90 tm can be fitted with climbing tower as the system is fully integrated with the Liebherr modular system.
The cranes can be combined with undercarriages, tower sections and climbing devices of the HC cranes.
